‘NOTHiNG’
Feat. Chris Lines
Words by CHARLES BUKOWSKi
Music & Production by DiViNiUM

THE STORY BEHIND ‘NOTHiNG’
We’d been playing around with a new musical concept in the studio:
a theatrical, cinematic piece with a strong, driving pulse and kept circling back
to the idea that to finalize the track, spoken word passages might be the best
direction for any vocal addition.Whilst searching online for inspirational quotes
we discovered UK voice-actor Chris' Lines narration work on a video
‘Life Changing Quotes of Charles Bukowski’
We downloaded the video and stripped the vocals adding them to the track and
rewriting the music around them. Once we had a working demo we researched
and reached out to Chris in the hope he might grant permission for us to use his voice
as a sample on the track. To our delight, and far beyond our expectation,
Chris generously agreed to join the project, recording a bespoke performance
specifically for the track and its accompanying video.
His presence reshaped the project into more of a theatrical performance piece
and brought a different kind of depth adding a sense of cynical grit to to our music.
‘NOTHiNG’ is an electronic, high-energy track with a cinematic-influence,
sculpted around Chris’ oration and woven into a driving dance beat.
The video is not political, merely an artistic slight
at the madness and chaos of the world today.
Each can form their own interpretation.
We’re deeply grateful to Chris for trusting us with his voice,
affording us great patience in the production process
[its been 2 years since commencing the project]
and for becoming such an integral part of bringing ‘NOTHiNG’ to life.

BiOGRAPHY
On screen, his work carries a grounded, lingering intensity
that feels carved from myth and memory.
From The Haunting of Alcatraz, Wrath of Dracula,
Lord of Wolves, Whiteblade, The Man in the Mask,
the newly released THE KNIGHTLiNG,
to the upcoming Mouse of Horrors.
As a voice artist, he steps into even larger worlds.
His narration has echoed across HBO,
slipped through the philosophical haze of Disco Elysium,
The Final Cut (as The Deserter),
moved with the wind currents of The Falconeer and Bulwark,
and guided audiences through The Spy Apprentice as The Narrator.
His voice lands like a quiet truth -
warm, cinematic, and edged with an emotional gravity
that deepens every moment it touches.
Whether in front of the camera or behind the microphone,
Chris brings a rare alchemy of stillness and power.
His performances feel deeply human and unmistakably alive,
carrying the kind of resonance that lingers long after the final frame fades.

“After a lifetime of doing mostly what other people said I shouldn’t,
this is what I’ve got out of it ….
I have been up the Andes, down the Amazon and across the Limpopo.
I have seen the ruins of Zimbabwe and the Ziggurat in Babylon.
I have crossed the Sahara and travelled the Atacama.
The wind has blown me and I have run with it.
I do not follow and I would not be followed.
I have always loved the movement of the journey and rarely has the arrival been as satisfying …
Except for acting, where there is nothing so exhilarating as, after hours, weeks or months of
hard work one can see the final result – be it stage or screen.
It is a huge high.
I consider the development of both intuition and talent to be the only genuinely
admissible objectives of education.”
